Buggy Walks


These mum lead walks (Walking for Health qualified) are an amazing way to fit exercise into your weekly routine. Whether you are pregnant or your baby is in a pushchair or carrier (sling) they offer the chance to socialise and chat with other mums and build up your fitness. Finding to time to participate in exercise with a young family can be tricky and these sessions will help develop your cardio fitness and muscle strength.

The psychological benefits are equally important, exercising outside, being around likeminded others, the camaraderie and motivation this positive environment brings.

Toilet and changing facilities are available inside the Holmfield Arms pub (Monday walk) and Anglers Country Park visitor centre (Wednesdays). There is always the chance to grab a drink and snack afterwards too 🙂

Sturdy footwear/ trainers (depending on weather) and fitness clothing is recommended for the walks. Check out our Facebook page for updates on the walks.

Please ensure you have had your 6 week post natal GP check-up and have been given the all clear to exercise before attending a walk.

The walks use the Walking for Health Heart Rating to describe the route:

20-30mins, suitable for people who have not walked before. Flay ground or gentle slopes with many firm surfaces.

♥♥ – 30mins – 1hr, suitable for people who are looking to increase their activity levels. May include some moderate slopes, uneven but still buggy friendly surfaces.

♥♥♥ – 1hr-1hr 30mins, suitable for people looking for a more challenging walk and increasing their level of physical activity. May include steeper slopes, uneven yet still buggy friendly surfaces.
